    1. Poor Richard’s Almanac strikes again, echoing the likes (dislikes) of Kierkegaard: “Where there is a crowd, there is untruth.”

More to the point, I guess, is that someone our age don’t belong in a place like that, where one can get hurt. 🙂

      1. I’m very interested in the differences between “my reaction” to the photo and Holy Cow Girl’s reaction … same photo … different folks … different views … seemingly totally different “takes” … what makes the world go ’round.

        1. Both of you offer up superb observations. You, Richard, are a writer, Barbara is a painter. Well, she writes too, and keeps threatening to release an autobiography but holds back out of compassion because she knows it will bring the world to a standstill. 😀

  1. What a fabulously romanticized group of painted faces. Such sweetness and light pouring out of them the artist had to have been awash in tears the entire job. Somehow it doesn’t match up with the resumes of rappers, gangstahs, and bad boys from the hood I recognize here from Brooklyn’s streets. That is, when not occupied with using their power for good and lighting alter candles.

    1. It is stunning in its clarity & contrast, although I don’t know how much the street lighting is contributing to the effect. I assume they are icons of popular culture but I don’t recognize a soul.

And since this is Black History month, maybe I need some learnin’.
