You’ll probably notice that I originally had said “rocket” but changed it to “pistol” when I remembered what Mae West had actually said. Memory deteriorates, ya know. π¦
Upon your first notification with “rocket in your pocket” The west side story lyric, “Keep coolly cool, boy…” immediately popped into my head. (Mae West being slightly before my time)
But then noticed the “Marry a Mountain Girl and you marry the whole mountain” sign above the window π π
Coincidentally, 5 minutes after I read your comment I looked at another blog I follow and the author mentioned those very same lyrics. I saw a production of West Side Story just a handful of years ago in Tucson, but didn’t remember those lyrics. I do remember all the cool finger-snappin’ and dance moves, and fine music of course. https://rachelmankowitz.wordpress.com/2017/02/05/stay-cool-cricket/

But back to your photo. There really is a whole lot going on in their faces, hands and their whole body language with her ankles twisted in. It is a very fine photo.
Recently I have begun to explore a new genre, street photography.
The thrill is palpable in never quite knowing whatβs down the alley and around the corner and whether itβs friendly, or not.
Iβm learning as I go. Β And as long as I donβt stumble over a tripwire or step on a punji stick I hope to post interesting images for your enjoyment.
No, it’s a mountain peak!

I dunno, Oops … but it sure looks to me that she “had a rocket in her pocket” … symbolically speaking, of course.
